'Exploring Sensitive Skin With Avene' Bloggers Meet!

Hello my lovelies,

How's the festive season coming along for you ladies? We are loving the nip in the air :) Anyways earlier this month, we attended an informative and educational bloggers meet organised by Eau Thermale Avene for exploring sensitive skin. Read on to know all about it.

But of course before we begin, it's time for our customary, 'ready to leave' selfie!

The venue for the event was perfect...Pali Village Cafe, which has a lovely French touch. The setup was simple and uncluttered in pink and white.

At the entrance we were handed out our programme list for the evening along with a welcome drink.

In the meantime we explored the room, which had skin experts and make-up artists from Fat Mu makeup academy who were demonstrating how to best use Avene products and incorporate them in our makeup routine.

Pro-tip - DIY facial mask, soak a tissue or cotton pad with Avene Thermal Spring water, apply it on your face for 10 minutes and enjoy your spa at home!

And finally the evening began...we were told about the plan for the day.

Next up Marion gave us a little introduction to Avene, it's origin and the journey so far. She also spoke about the goodness of Avene Thermal Spring water and it's benefits for sensitive skin.

Then Team Avene introduced us to the Avene Sensibox featuring the brand's latest launches in India comprising of the micellar lotion, cold cream and of course the star product, thermal spring water. We have shared the pictures of the Avene Sensibox at the end of the blog.

And last but not the least, the intervention by Mumbai-based dermatologist, Dr. Harshana Bijlani on sensitive skin and how to recognize it commenced. Following are some of the tips she shared -

- Always do a patch test for new products on areas like behind the ears or the crease of your elbow. Sometimes products take 2 day to react, so wait it out.

- In case you use peels and have very sensitive skin, make sure it's not acidic.

- Adjust your skin care products based on the weather. For instance, the products you use in summer cannot be used in winter, as you'll require something more hydrating in winters.

- During winters, go easy on cold creams as too much of it will block your pores and cause acne.

- Always remove makeup with a gentle cleanser.

- Don't just rely on sunscreen as that only prevents your skin from burning. Protect your skin from sun exposure with an umbrella, scarf or dupatta.

- With busy lives and crazy stress levels, adequate sleep is essential. Also indulge in activities to calm yourself down mentally.

- Sometimes skin problems are also related to hormones. The only way to find out is a sonography and not just a blood test.

- Never try any new product before a big day.

- Apply perfume on clothes and not your skin.

- Drink plenty of water...some people actually don't like the taste of water, even though it is tasteless, one should drink coconut water or lemonade as it is essential to keep yourself hydrated.

- Always look for the words 'dermatologically tested' on products before buying.

- Once you have applied sunscreen ideally you should re-apply it every few hours but that's not always possible. In that case, use a compact that has SPF. Compacts with SPF 15 are good enough as it's better than not applying anything at all.

The Nykaa Nail Enamel Collection Launch!

Hello my lovelies,

Last  week, we attended the launch of Nykaa Nail Enamel which is first in a series of beauty offerings by Nykaa.com, the premier online beauty and wellness website.  The in house line of beauty products is also called "Nykaa". So read on as we take you through this new product launch.

All set to go but let's take a selfie first :)

The launch was held at a recreation center and as you will see in the pictures that follow the set up including the theme, use of colors etc. spelt just one thing...FUN!!!

Keeping the launch in mind, there was a cute photo booth in the shape of a nail polish bottle.

And there were colorful cupcakes in some of the colors of the Nykaa Nail Enamel range.

The recreation area also had a section for pampering... wherein we could get either a manicure, pedicure or nail art done :) I opted for nail art, good opportunity to get my nails done in time for the festive season.

There was also a fun pop quiz which were asked to fill in based on which we were given our goodie bags which were divided into pop, shimmer and pastel. My quiz result was pop.
